"Missing middle" describes housing types that offer multiple units at a modest scale within existing neighborhoods.

This tour travels through the Weigent-Hogan and Washburn neighborhoods. Stops include duplexes, small apartment buildings, and multiple detached units on a single lot. What can these buildings tell us about potential solutions to the city’s housing crisis?

Let's Taco 'Bout ADUs

AARP Wisconsin hosted a presentation all about Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). In the City of La Crosse, ADUs are allowable on any residential lot. Attendees gained valuable insight on the ins and outs of ADU development in our community.

Then and Now: Housing Access, Affordability, and Discrimination

In this workshop, presenters look to our local history to deepen our understanding of current housing issues. We explore how histories of racism and inequity have shaped current housing disparities, and we will share clear action items that community members can take to improve housing access and affordability in La Crosse.
